Vitamin K is actually a group of fat-soluble compounds. These compounds provide the menaquinones menaquinone-4 (MK-4) and menaquinone-7 (MK-7). Vitamin K1 also known as phylloquinone is concentrated in the liver. By contrast vitamin K2 is normally found in the vascular tissues.
One of the most important uses of this nutrient is to support strong bones. It can help a substance called osteacalcin bind to calcium therefore supporting hardness of bone matter; hard bones are less easily broken which allows you to stay active. In addition vitamin K helps support blood clotting which may prevent excessive bleeding.
Every capsule of Synergy K provides all of the forms of vitamin K. It also contains vitamin D which works synergistically with vitamin K to support healthy bones and blood vessel functioning. This supplement works to fill in the gaps that may occur if you have certain health conditions that interfere with absorption.
