Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring gel-like water holding molecule that is present in large amounts in the spaces between skin cells, where it provides moisture, plumpness, firmness and suppleness to the skin. It is also present in the eyes and in the joint spaces, where it acts as a lubricant and æshock absorber. As you age, your body produces less and less hyaluronic acid over time. Your body roughly contain 15 grams of HA and it is found in virtually every part and has multiple functions. HA improves skin hydration, stimulates production of collagen in skin, works as an antioxidant and free radical scavenger, maintains skin elasticity, cushions joints and nerve tissues, has an anti-inflammatory activity and maintains the fluid in the eye tissues, which may help to protect against numerous possible eye concerns.
With age, body produces less and less of HA and by the time you are 40, the production of HA is about half than what is required. This decrease in HA results in joint problems and signs of aging.
Pure Encapsulations Hyaluronic Acid provides 70 mg of HA in each capsule. This sufficient amount of HA promotes joint lubrication and enhances shock absorbing capacity of joints. Hyaluronic acid helps to retain over a 1000 times its weight in water within the cells of skin, making it an excellent moisturizer. In fact, no other biological substance can retain as much water as HA resulting in increased smoothness, softening and decreased wrinkles. Equally important is its ability to remove waste matter from cells including those where there is little blood circulation.
These hyaluronic acid caps have been designed for maximum absorption and bioavailability. In its natural form hyaluronic acid is very difficult for the small intestines to absorb. That's why Pure Encapsulations uses HyaMax to perform the fermentation process; this fermentation creates a form of hyaluronic acid easily absorbed by the skin joint and connective tissues and cartilage.
